Women's Health

A healthy cycle tells the story of a healthy body

Healthy ovulation, the cornerstone of a woman's reproductive health, is a sign that your body is healthy.

Reproductive health issues don’t just affect fertility. Even if you are single, or aren't planning a pregnancy, your reproductive health is important to your whole body.

These issues can affect your whole body health, both now and into the future.

Restorative reproductive medicine dives deep into your reproductive endocrinology to assess the many hormones which need to be in balance for healthy ovulation. Your sex hormones (oestradiol and progesterone) are only one small part of the picture. A restorative approach involves charting your cycle, and investigations such as blood tests and medical imaging.

We use cycle charting with a fertility awareness method (FAM) to aid diagnosis, and to time testing and treatment accurately. This helps you to take the driver’s seat for your own treatment and health, empowered with a better understanding of your own body.

We aim for holistic treatment, which may include lifestyle changes, medications, supplements, and/or surgical intervention.

Issues we look at include, but are not limited to:

  • Polycystic ovarian syndrome
  • Period/menstrual pain (dysmenorrhoea)
  • Abnormal vaginal bleeding (including frequent periods and irregular or infrequent periods)
  • Weight issues
  • “I’m just not right” (including PMS)
  • Fertility issues

Healthy ovulation is essential for good health for many reasons:

  • It provides healthy hormonal balance required for good mental health.
  • It protects from endometrial cancer.
  • It builds up bone density to prevent later fractures.
  • It helps maintain a healthy weight.

And many others.
